In this pivotal role, you will perform critical heavy overhaul maintenance on rolling stock bogies and associated components. You will be responsible for ensuring all assets meet strict engineering standards while maintaining high safety and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Heavy Maintenance: Removal, installation, and cleaning of bogies and components.

• Precision Engineering: Replacing bearings and wheels using specialized machinery, and rebuilding gearboxes and traction motors.

• System Overhauls: Comprehensive maintenance and overhaul of braking systems.

• Diagnostics: Performing fault diagnosis and implementing corrective actions per engineering specs.

• Documentation: Maintaining meticulous records of inspections, repairs, and parts usage.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for a safety-conscious technician who thrives in a collaborative environment.

• Trade Qualified: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Fitter/Machinist).

• Experience: At least 3 years of technical experience, specifically around rolling stock or heavy machinery.

• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of mechanical systems, bearings, suspension, and braking components.

• Compliance: Valid RIW Card and White Card.

• Blueprint Literacy: Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
