Operations Associate – Financial Services
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + Super + Discretionary Bonuses
Location: Double Bay (Eastern Suburbs / City Fringe)
Work Type: Full-Time, 5 Days in Office
The Vibe: Great culture, tight-knit team, and plenty of room to grow
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of an exciting financial services business that is expanding rapidly. They have completely moved away from rigid corporate bureaucracy and have built a warm, energetic team where everyone actually enjoys working together.
Because the business is scaling up, they are looking for an Operations Associate to look after the loan process. This is a hands-on, highly operational role where you will have a direct impact on the day-to-day running of the business.
What’s on Offer
A genuinely great culture: You’ll be joining a supportive, close-knit team that prioritises mentorship, training, and helping you build a long-term career.
Awesome location: The office is based in a beautiful spot in Double Bay, right near the local Thursday markets (a regular team picnic spot), great cafes, and just a short walk from Edgecliff station.
Real perks: On top of a competitive base salary, the client offers discretionary bonuses and an employee share option plan.
What you’ll actually be doing:
This role is all about keeping things moving between the initial application stage and final settlement. You will be the central point of contact keeping all the moving parts on track.
Application & Origination Support: Reviewing incoming loan applications to ensure they are complete, fixing manual gaps, and ordering necessary support processes to get files ready for credit review.
Chasing Settlements: Working closely with external panel lawyers, keeping the pressure on to push files through to settlement quickly and smoothly
Documentation & KYC: Reviewing and auditing incoming files—making sure ID, bank details, and title documents are accurate and compliant.
Payment Processing: Running day-to-day payment processes to ensure all funds flow timely and accurately.
Process Improvements: Helping to map out workflows and finding ways to automate tasks as the business grows.
About You:
The client doesn't need decades of experience, and they aren't picky about what specific types of loans you've dealt with in the past. What they do need is someone who understands the basic loan lifecycle and knows how financial services operations work.
Some financial services background: You understand how a loan flows from application through to settlement.
A proactive mindset: You aren't afraid to chase down external lawyers, and manage a busy pipeline of files.
Sharp attention to detail: You enjoy being organized, spot errors easily, and have excellent follow-through.
The right attitude: You are smart, curious, and comfortable with a bit of ambiguity as processes evolve. Most importantly, you can balance a process-driven role with genuine empathy for customers.
