Randstad is thrilled to be engaged with a large Queensland Government Department seeking two experienced Procurement Officers for an immediate January 2026 start. Secure an initial 6-month contract contributing to critical public sector outcomes.

Key Duties

AO5 Procurement Officer
Manages end-to-end procurement for moderate-value projects, ensuring QPP compliance.

Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle (planning, sourcing, tendering, evaluation, contract award).
Prepare procurement documentation (RFQ, ITO, contract terms).
Provide advice to stakeholders on policies and processes.
Conduct market research and initial risk assessments.
Administer low to medium-complexity contracts and monitor supplier performance.
Maintain accurate procurement records for audit.

AO6 Senior Procurement Officer

Leads complex, medium-value procurement, providing expert advice and driving strategic value-for-money.

Lead complex, medium-value procurement activities from strategy to implementation.
Develop strategic sourcing plans and category strategies.
Provide expert advice/interpretation on QPP and contractual matters to senior clients.
Negotiate high-value contracts and variations for optimal outcomes.
Manage major supplier relationships and contract performance (KPI monitoring).
Mentor junior staff as a subject matter expert.

Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

Full Australian Working Rights (Citizen, Perm Resident, or valid working visa).
Possession of QLD Government Procurement Certification Level 1 and Level 2.
Demonstrated experience operating at the relevant AO level within QLD Government.
