Located in a modern workshop in Rydalmere, this role is perfect for a mechanically minded individual who thrives in a high-precision, bench-work environment.
You will be at the heart of the maintenance process, assisting with the disassembly, retrofitting, and reassembly of critical brake calipers and pneumatic valves. If you have a passion for "the nuts and bolts" and want a career in the rail industry, this is your starting point.
Location: Rydalmere, NSW. Modern facility with a great team culture. Hourly Rate: $38.00 - $40.00 Per Hour + Penalty Rates + Super Shifts Available: Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 2:36 pm (Finish early every day!) Status: Ongoing to Permanent for the right candidate.

Mechanical Grounding: 12+ months of practical Trade Assistant experience. We highly value backgrounds in small engine mechanics, wrecking, or stripping down pumps.
Tool Confident: Proven ability to use hand and power tools for disassembly, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
Technical Interest: Partial completion of a mechanical trade (Local or Overseas) is highly desirable—we want people who want to upskill!
Compliance Ready: Valid White Card and full Australian working rights/residency.
Safety First: A "can-do" attitude with a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean workshop environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Disassemble and reassemble brake calipers and valves in a controlled bench environment.
Assess part conditions against engineering drawings and perform functional line testing.
Maintain pneumatic components using specialized hand and power tools.
Complete quality reports and checklists to ensure every component meets safety standards.
Highly Desirable: If you hold a valid NSW LF Forklift License or have a background in Oil and Water Pump maintenance, please highlight this in your application!
