We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join a highly regarded Public Sector Organisation responsible for managing critical municipal Water and Wastewater infrastructure. This is an immediate, full-time temp role with a strong intention to transition to a permanent position upon successful completion of a probationary period.
You will be responsible for providing expert mechanical maintenance, repair, and fault diagnosis across essential Redland City infrastructure, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and water storages.

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
Execute planned preventative maintenance and swift responsive repairs on mechanical plant and equipment within water/wastewater systems.
Diagnose complex mechanical faults and implement effective rectification measures.
Interpret technical drawings, maintenance plans, and use Maintenance Management Systems (MMS).
Maintain accurate work records and assist with procurement functions.
Ensure rigorous compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and environmental protection requirements.
About You (Selection Criteria & Mandatory Requirements)
Essential Criteria:
Trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
Proven, hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, or heavy industrial pumping/treatment facilities.
Current MR Class Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain).
Construction Industry Safety Induction Card (White Card).
Ability to obtain and retain Confined Space Entry certification.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively under demand in a multi-priority environment.
Highly Desirable:
Previous experience specifically within water and wastewater systems.
Restricted Electrical Licence or post-trade mechanical/electrical qualifications.
