Are you an experienced Machinist looking for a consistent, high-paying role? We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team in Tomago for the repair and overhaul of critical rail infrastructure.
This is a casual but ongoing position within a stable industry, offering a structured roster and excellent earning potential.
The Rewards
Rate: $47.10 per hour.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Potential to move onto Afternoon Shift 2:30 PM - 10:30PM .
Overtime: Regular opportunities to boost your take-home pay.
Stability: Potential for a Temp-to-Perm transition for the right candidate.
The Role
Working in a specialized workshop environment, you will be responsible for the precision maintenance of train wheels and axles. Key responsibilities include:
Operating specialized machinery and lathes to repair and overhaul rail components.
Ensuring all work meets strict safety and quality tolerances.
Performing routine machine checks and maintaining a clean workspace.
Collaborating with the production team to meet daily output targets.
What You Bring
To be successful in this role, you must be reliable, safety-conscious, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience: Minimum of 12 months experience in a machine operating or manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills: Previous experience operating CNC machines is highly desirable.
Precision: Ability to operate lathes and measurement tools with a high degree of accuracy.
Reliability: Proven track record of punctuality and a "can-do" attitude.
Location
This role is based at our facility in Tomago. You will need reliable transport to ensure you can meet the 5:30 AM start time.
