About The Company
Our client is a large-scale, family-oriented private fuel distributor operating at a significant national scale. With a 20-year distribution license with a global fuel brand, they are a highly regulated, ASIC-lodged organization that prides itself on quick decision-making and a supportive work environment. They are currently undergoing a strategic restructure to transition from a partner-led operation to a process-driven enterprise.
About the Role
Due to a planned business transition, this high-level opportunity has become available, reporting to the Group Director. As the most senior staff member in the business, you will lead the operational and logistics function, transforming it into a high-efficiency, data-driven division. Based in Tomago, you will oversee a fleet of 25 truck-and-trailer combinations across four depots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the logistics team to deliver results, driving continuous improvements in Safety, Service, and Productivity.
- Drive ERP integration, specifically leading the transition of logistics functions into the Octane system to improve automation and visibility.
- Execute fleet optimization programs to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operational overheads.
- Manage operational performance, coaching and mentoring the warehouse and logistics teams through a period of change.
- Actively ensure a safe working environment, maintaining stringent Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and HSSE compliance standards.
The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Extensive experience in a senior logistics or operations role, specifically managing heavy vehicles and distributed depots.
- Exposure to Fuel or Dangerous Goods is highly regarded.
- Proven ability to lead systems change, including implementing or optimizing logistics modules within an ERP system.
- Experience with performance management and the ability to manage "old-school" workforces through strategic shifts.
- Resolution and results-focused mindset with the ability to operate autonomously as a "self-starter".
- Strong computer skills; experience with Sage 300 or similar enterprise software is critical.
