This is a high-impact leadership role for a senior lending professional who wants to build a team, drive operational standards, and adda definitive mark on a scaling business.
Based in Double Bay—near Edgecliff station—you will manage a specialized team of four Lending Specialists, with a directive to double the headcount by the end of the year. This "player-coach" position balances technical credit expertise with the responsibility of translating business strategy into daily execution.
The Opportunity
You will oversee the end-to-end customer journey, from initial enquiry through to settlement. As the bridge between frontline operations and senior leadership, your focus will be on technical coaching, credit rigor, and maintaining high-performance standards for a demographic navigating significant financial transitions.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Direct, coach, and develop specialists through structured one-on-ones, call audits, and performance reviews.
Credit Quality Control: Review and quality-check loan applications prior to submission, ensuring all risk flags and serviceability assessments are addressed.
Workflow Optimization: Triage enquiries and allocate resources to ensure consistent coverage and SLA adherence.
Compliance Management: Maintain expertise in the NCCP Act and ASIC regulatory guides, cascading updates to the team to ensure absolute adherence to standards.
Escalation Management: Resolve complex service issues and personally manage high-value or escalated applications requiring senior-level judgment.
Requirements
Proven Experience: Minimum 5 years in residential lending, with 2+ years in a team lead or senior "player-coach" capacity.
Technical Proficiency: Strong credit analysis skills and a comprehensive understanding of responsible lending obligations (NCCP Act / RG 209).
Risk Awareness: Experience in vulnerability management and elder financial abuse screening is highly regarded.
Qualifications: Cert IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (completed or in progress).
Systems: High proficiency with CRM platforms; HubSpot experience is a distinct advantage.
