An established Queensland-based legal practice is seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a law firm who is confident managing legal trust accounts and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of legal accounts and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and trust accounting compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Managing legal trust and office accounts
Processing trust receipts, payments, and transfers
Performing daily and monthly trust account reconciliations
Managing billing and financial reporting using LEAP legal software
Supporting end-of-month and end-of-year processes
Ensuring compliance with Queensland Law Society (QLS) trust accounting requirements
Liaising with internal stakeholders, external accountants, and auditors
General accounts and finance administration duties as required
About You
2–3 years’ experience working as an Accounts Officer within an Australian legal firm
Proven experience with legal trust accounting (essential)
Hands-on experience using LEAP software
Familiarity with QLS trust accounting rules and compliance
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
Clear communication skills and a professional approach
