The Core Focus: Culture, Change, and Creativity
This role is centered on leveraging internal communications to achieve strategic cultural and behaviour change objectives. You will be the creative force ensuring every message not only informs but inspires action, embeds organisational values, and fosters a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities: 
- Strategic Behaviour Change: Design, develop, and deliver targeted internal communications strategies and plans that specifically drive desired staff behaviours, reinforce organisational values, and support key change initiatives. 
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and subject matter experts, managing complex stakeholder engagement to ensure communications align with strategic goals and business needs. 
- Executive & Crisis Communications: Draft high-quality, impactful internal messaging, updates, and speeches on behalf of the CEO and senior leaders, including targeted communications for emergency events (e.g., extreme weather). 
- Content Leadership: Lead internal communications delivery across the organisation, with a strong focus on high-quality writing, ensuring a clear, consistent, and engaging tone of voice across all channels. 
- Digital Contribution: Support broader team activities by creating compelling digital and social media content, including writing and scheduling content for LinkedIn, developing email campaigns via Vision6, and supporting the maintenance of the social media calendar. 
About You
You are a hands-on, collaborative, and solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced government environment. You are deeply passionate about the internal comms space and its ability to transform an organisation.
Essential Requirements:
- Mandatory Government Experience: Demonstrated and significant experience in a communications role within government (state or federal). 
- Strategic Internal Comms: Proven track record in developing and executing internal communications strategies, with a particular emphasis on driving culture and behaviour change. 
- Exceptional Writer: Superior writing skills with extensive experience in developing content for diverse internal audiences and multiple channels, including executive-level drafting. 
- Digital Fluency: Working knowledge of digital communication tools such as Vision6 and LinkedIn, with the ability to tailor messaging for maximum impact. 
- Resilience & Detail: Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple competing deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail.
