What You’ll Be Doing
You will oversee the reliability, safety, and efficiency of diverse HVAC assets across the council's portfolio:
Routine Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections of HVAC systems to ensure absolute reliability and compliance with NSW and Australian Standards.
Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Diagnose and fix faults across chillers, split systems, packaged units, and ducted systems with minimal disruption to council operations.
Upgrades & Installations: Install, upgrade, or replace systems and components using industry best practices.
Energy Efficiency: Actively identify opportunities for energy savings and recommend eco-friendly, efficient system upgrades.
Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws and environmental regulations.
Documentation: Keep precise service logs, compliance reports, and safety documentation.
On-Call Support: Provide critical support during HVAC emergencies as part of a shared on-call roster.
What We’re Looking For
You must bring a solid commercial background and a comprehensive set of credentials.
Mandatory Requirements:
Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent nationally recognized qualification).
Licences:
Full ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
NSW Restricted Electrical Licence (for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) or a full Electrical Licence.
Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
Valid NSW White Card (Construction Induction).
Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in the HVAC industry, with a heavy focus on commercial or public sector environments.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing chillers, split systems, packaged units, and ducted systems.
Clear history of complying with SafeWork NSW and modern WHS legislation.
