Core Responsibilities
Maintenance: Routine servicing of engines, transmissions, brakes, and gearboxes.
Technical Repairs: Diagnosing and fixing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Specialized Fleet: Carrying out repairs, inspections, and upgrades to Bushmaster vehicles.
Problem Solving: Adapting technical solutions to improve repair procedures and processes.
Safety & Admin: Strict adherence to OH&S, maintaining safety records, and housekeeping.
The Environment & Physicality
Access: Climbing ladders into cabs and working in/under large armoured hulls.
High Reach: Utilizing fixed platforms for high-reach maintenance areas.
Lifting Limits: Strict 15kg manual lift limit; overhead cranes and team lifts are required for heavier items.
Tooling: Use of heavy hand tools with high-force push/pull requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
To be eligible for this role within the Defence sector, you must meet the following criteria:
Trade Qualification: Must be a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter.
Citizenship: You must be an Australian Citizen.
Security Clearance: Ability to pass and maintain an Australian Federal Police (AFP) check.
