About My Client

You will be joining an established SA team where your expertise is valued and supported by national systems.
Position Objective
You will be the pivotal HSEQ support for project teams across South Australia, driving the successful implementation and continuous enhancement of safety, environmental, and quality systems on live commercial sites. Your work ensures absolute compliance with both legislative requirements and building industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Environment & Quality Systems Leadership
Promote & Implement: Champion safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring compliance and due diligence are met across all project tiers.
System Integration: Review and assist in the development of project-specific management plans, seamlessly integrating corporate systems at project commencement.
Audit & Assurance: Conduct and lead project site audits to ensure strict adherence to safety and building regulations.
Expert Advice: Act as the HSEQ subject matter expert for SA commercial construction and estimating teams, providing practical, high-level technical guidance.
Incident Management: Lead thorough investigations into incidents, facilitating root cause analysis (e.g., using ICAM), and analysing trends to inform management.
Documentation Control: Review and approve critical project documents, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Project Management Plans.
Injury Management & Training
Return to Work: Provide localised support to the National Injury Management Advisor for workers' compensation claims and diligently maintain regional injury records.
Training & Development: Oversee project training needs, advise on safety-specific requirements, and lead or coordinate site safety inductions and training days.
Culture & Communication: Develop engaging toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and initiatives to foster a proactive, positive safety culture on site.
Strategic Engagement & Operations
Stakeholder Liaison: Represent the company in key forums, including client pre-start meetings, weekly foreman meetings, and subcontractor briefings.
Operational Support: Coordinate site drug and alcohol testing, equipment calibrations, and allocate safety resources to new commercial projects.
Your Credentials
To be successful in this high-impact role, you must possess a proven track record within the commercial building sector, including:
Experience: 5–7 years of dedicated experience as a Safety Coordinator/Advisor specifically within commercial construction (experience with commercial builds, multi-story, or institutional projects is essential).
Minimum Qualification: Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
Core Safety Certifications (Highly Regarded):
ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
Lead Auditor training.
Return to Work / Rehabilitation Coordinator training.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
