About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Global Logistics who views logistics spend through the lens of a P&L owner.
You will be the architect of our global logistics framework, ensuring that as we scale, our controls, audit trails, and unit costs remain razor-sharp across AU/NZ, North America, and the UK. This is not a traditional "ops" role; it is a high-stakes commercial and leadership position.
- You treat logistics spend like your own money. You will actively audit freight and 3PL invoices, setting and hitting aggressive targets for cost-per-unit, cost-per-order, and cost-per-kg.
- You will lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with carriers and 3PL partners, using hard data to hold stakeholders accountable.
- You’ll build exception-based reporting to flag the top 5% of cost variances, comparing expected vs. actual freight costs by lane, carrier, and region.
- You will design the global frameworks (KPIs, contracts, and reporting) that allow for regional execution while respecting the unique logistical realities Proven ability to identify invoice overbilling and manage 3PL cost-per-order relative to volume growth.
- Extensive experience in competitive tenders (RFP) and global contract negotiation.
- Expert in SLA/KPI design (OTIF, accuracy, claims rates). You don't just set targets; you build the escalation frameworks and penalty enforcement to back them up.
- You are driven by repeatable, scalable processes. You build approval workflows and audit trails designed to survive rapid company growth.
The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role
- You are as comfortable in a complex spreadsheet as you are negotiating with a global carrier.
- You have the professional weight to enforce the "teeth" of a contract when performance dips.
- You understand the nuances of the North American and UK logistics landscapes compared to the AU/NZ market.
