Your Responsibilities
Working within the City Strategy and Design Unit, you will focus on high-quality documentation and 3D visualisations. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Visual Documentation: Producing sophisticated layouts, maps, and diagrams for the Development Control Plan (DCP) and other planning policies.
- 3D Modelling: Conducting scenario testing using software such as Giraffe and Sketchup to test planning controls.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partnering with strategic planners and urban designers to set style and digital requirements for public-facing platforms.
- Project Support: Assisting with master plans, the 3D model project, and supporting the Design Review Panel.
- Accessibility: Ensuring all visual deliverables meet high standards of clarity and modern accessibility design standards.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience specifically in urban design, 3D modelling, and visualisation.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (Experience with Giraffe is a plus, but can be taught).
- Portfolio: A proven track record of producing high-quality urban design reports and sophisticated document layouts.
- Communication: Strong ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Organization: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines for high-priority projects.
