About the Role
Our client is a government-run public zoo located in Mosman Sydney. They are urgently seeking an experienced Finance Officer in Bank Reconciliations to work with them on a 12 month assignment at their office in Mosman.
Candidates for this role must have experience with SAP finance system, coupled with previous Bank Reconciliations and Accounts receivable experience.
Please note that due to the location, candidates living roughly 45 minutes from Mosman are strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Daily Operations & Transaction Management
- Daily Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliation between the bank statement and the SAP accounting system.
- EFTPOS Translation: Manage the daily settlement and translation of data from approximately 120 daily-settling EFTPOSTerminals.
- Multi-System Data Handling: Process transactions and revenue data from various non-SAP systems, including:
- Data Analysis: Download daily bank data and use advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) to match one system's data with the bank records.
- Variance Investigation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies that arise during reconciliation, as the established system will occasionally have unmatched items.
- Journaling & Substantiation: Create necessary journals to correct and substantiate timing issues and other outstanding items.
- Month-End Reporting: Provide commentary and explanations for outstanding payments and other items as part of the monthly financial reconciliation process.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance Officer specialising in Accounts Receivable and Reconciliations with proven experience and reliability in previous positions
The successful candidate will possess:
- Living within roughly 45 minutes from Mosman
- SAP Finance System experience
- Accounts Receivable and Bank Reconciliation experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Must be adept at data handling and investigation, with a strong ability to investigate expenses and variances.
- Ability manage a high volume of daily transactions and systematically work through data from multiple sources.
