Field Application Specialist - NZ - North Island
We are seeking a Field Application Specialist to join a global leader in the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. This pivotal role involves providing expert technical support for our diagnostic portfolio to key customers across the North Island region of New Zealand, primarily focusing on Auckland and surrounding areas.

You will provide end-to-end technical support and training to ensure optimal use and adoption of our products. Beyond day-to-day support, you will contribute strategic and tactical input, leveraging your technical expertise to inform product management, commercial strategy, and the ethical promotion of our innovative products.Key Responsibilities
- Exceptional Customer Support: Deliver an outstanding customer experience by providing expert technical support, results interpretation, and guidance on best clinical practices.
- Customer Engagement & Satisfaction: Sustain high customer satisfaction by responding swiftly to technical queries, meticulously maintaining CRM documentation and proactively engaging with customers through site visits, events, and timely follow-ups.
- Training & Education Leadership: Develop and deliver comprehensive customer training programs, workshops, and in-services (e.g. assay validation, troubleshooting) to ensure confident product use and adoption of best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with sales, marketing, and other internal stakeholders to provide a unified customer experience, including clinical needs assessment, product training, and post-implementation support.
- Market Insight & Improvement: Actively collect and share insights from clinicians and laboratory professionals to drive continuous improvement across product development, service offerings, and commercial operations.
- Business Growth Enabler: Support business expansion by identifying emerging product attributes, clinical applications, and unmet customer needs that drive market adoption and innovation.
- Scientific Sales Support: Collaborate with the commercial teams by providing scientific and technical evidence, developing educational resources, and assessing customer requirements to underpin business development initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain strong operational discipline and ensure timely, accurate reporting on all activities.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Master's or PhD degree in Immunology or a related scientific field. A Bachelor's degree may be considered if supplemented by extensive relevant experience, particularly in autoimmunity.
- Relevant industry or research experience and a commercial mindset
- Strong technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proven customer-centric mindset
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Work Style: Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative, highly-engaged team member.
- Travel: Flexibility and ability to travel as required within the region and potentially internationally.
