Role Overview
Our client is a global leader in the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) sector, renowned for engineering excellence and market-leading innovation. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a high-impact, 3-month contract to manage engineering activities relating to special projects and system maintenance. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Product Engineering and Support for Asia Pacific, you will oversee engineering change requests and ensure all technical outputs align with corporate strategies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering System Management & Operations:
- Strategic Oversight: Manage the Engineering system to ensure all Engineering Requests and Notices are processed with precision and efficiency.
- Custom Solutions: Lead the development of technical "Options & Specials" to tailor equipment to specific customer requirements while ensuring all work meets strict approval protocols.
- Data Integrity: Maintain and audit Configurator and AS400 data to ensure technical accuracy across the product line.
- Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities and modifications comply with relevant Australian Standards.
Project Leadership:
- Financial Planning: Develop detailed budgets and technical estimates for management approval.
- Execution: Track project progress against defined plans, ensuring all review milestones and technical deliverable (including drawings and data packs) are met.
- Collaboration: Act as a technical focal point, providing cross-functional support to various business units to ensure seamless project delivery.
Safety & Risk:
- Standard Bearer: Uphold strict OH&S and environmental policies, ensuring safety remains the core priority of the engineering function.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Mandatory Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable Engineering discipline.
- Leadership: Minimum 5+ years of experience managing a technical engineering environment.
- Sector Expertise: Deep product knowledge within the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or related heavy machinery industry.
- Systems: Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project. Experience with AS400 or similar configure systems is highly regarded.
- Practicality: A background in workshop, factory, or service environments is desired to bridge the gap between design and application.
Salary, Work rights & Duration
- Pay Rate: $650 - $700 per day + Super.
- Work rights: Full working rights.
- Type: 3-Month Contract with an ASAP start.
