Randstad is currently working with a sovereign defence manufacturer of high-tech defence systems that is integrated onto various defence platforms operating in mission critical environments. They are looking for an experienced electronics engineer with knowledge in systems safety to work on a project to support the Australian Defence force to enhance their surveillance, air battlespace management and air defence systems.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Adelaide.
About the Role

- Conduct major engineering assignments in collaboration with other members of the project engineering team.
- Perform requirement analysis and design and implement engineering solutions to meet the regulatory requirements and customers' needs.
- Conduct verification and validation and prepare verification plans and procedures.
- Perform project system safety engineering activities in accordance with the business requirements of the client.
- Leading system safety activities for the project, serving as the primary subject matter expert and representing the company at project safety meetings with the customer.
- Conducting safety assessments for new designs and design modifications, providing critical analysis of potential impacts on system safety.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive hazard logs and risk control plans, ensuring alignment with Defence safety standards and regulatory requirements.
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Computer science, Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related discipline).
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices and applicable standards.
- Experience with Voice Communications Systems, Radios, Telephony (VoIP, analog or digital).
- Good working knowledge of system safety engineering practices and applicable standards, e.g. MIL-STD-882.
- Experience working with complex defence projects (desirable).
