You will be working hands-on with heavy industrial machinery, including weigh-up machines, mixers, moulding machines, presses, ovens, rotators, and Dynometers.
This role initially starts on a day shift (6:30 am – 2:30 pm) but will require flexibility to work an afternoon shift (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), eventually transitioning into a permanent rotating day/afternoon roster
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and monthly safety inspections on building installations, appliances, and factory equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including motors, control panels, and PLCs.
- Read and interpret electrical engineering schematics and technical drawings.
- Work with the Engineering Manager to design, modify, and improve the factory’s electrical systems to meet future capacity demands.
- Conduct electrical testing (like lead tagging and calibration) to ensure correct function and safety.
What You Need to Succeed:
- A current NSW Electrical Licence (Qualified Supervisor) / A-Grade Electrical License.
- Proven experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens), SCADA systems, and VSDs.
- Strong understanding of the latest Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and fitters.
