About the Role:
Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a stable role that offers great roster flexibility? We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join the engineering department at our clients manufacturing facility in Taree. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in maximising the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our client's high-speed canline equipment.
We currently have multiple shift offerings available across the department—including day shifts and rotating shift work.

Key Responsibilities
- Preventative & Breakdown Maintenance: Perform planned inspections, scheduled servicing, and rapid breakdown electrical repairs on high-speed production lines.
- Fault-Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical faults using modern fault-finding techniques to minimize machine downtime.
- System Maintenance: Maintain site electrical systems and operational machinery to ensure continuous, safe operations.
- Safety & Quality First: Ensure all electrical work strictly adheres to Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and site quality/HACCP guidelilines. You must have a strict adherence to safety codes, understand the National Electrical Code (NEC), and consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE).
What We Are Looking For Essential Criteria:
- Trade Qualification: Must be a Trade Qualified Electrician holding an Electrical Contractors Licence.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a high-speed production layout.
- PLC Knowledge: Proven experience troubleshooting PLCs (including Allen Bradley, Omron, or Siemens S5 & S7).
- HMI Interfaces: Understanding of Human-Machine Interfaces used to operate and monitor plant processes.
- Flexibility: Openness to discussing our available day or rotating shift options. You must also be available for on-call breakdown support or occasional overtime work if production schedules require it.
Desirable Skills (Highly Regarded):
- Good mechanical aptitude with an understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of gas-fired burners and controls.
- Relevant tickets (Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space).
- General computer literacy and a positive, problem-solving mindset.
- Whether you're working as part of a crew or explaining technical issues to production teams, strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for ensuring projects are completed accurately and safely.
