The Opportunity
Join a leading state government agency dedicated to maintaining and improving the infrastructure that keeps Queensland running. As an Electrical Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the Townsville region, overseeing the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects for a diverse portfolio of government assets.
You will bridge the gap between office-based planning and field-based execution, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end supervision of electrical works, including:
Project Leadership: Supervise and develop office staff, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
Estimation & Tendering: Produce high-quality tender documentation, accurate project estimates, material lists, and construction programs.
Condition Assessments: Conduct detailed building inspections and surveys, including the collection of samples for suspected asbestos testing.
Safety Management: Actively facilitate WHS audits, conduct on-site inspections of plant and equipment, and ensure all Job Safety Environmental Reports (JSER) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are compliant.
Requirements & Capabilities
To be successful in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills:
Trade Qualification: A construction industry-related trade qualification (Electrical) is highly desirable.
Safety Certifications: A current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card) is mandatory.
Technical Literacy: Strong computer skills for reporting, estimating, and project tracking.
Hazard Management: Ability to safely handle and sample building materials (e.g., asbestos) following strict safety protocols.
Communication: Proven ability to manage subcontractors and lead diverse teams in a high-pressure environment.
