lectrical Project Engineer | STP Switchboard Upgrades
Immediate contract opportunity for a Electrical Project Engineer to join a major Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) upgrade program on the Gold Coast.
This role is part of the new Asset Lifecycle Delivery Service (ALDS) program, focused on maintaining, renewing, and improving the performance of critical Water and Waste (WW) assets. You will take a lead technical role in the STP Switchboard Upgrade project, which is currently in the construction phase across various City of Gold Coast sites.

...Rate: $72 - $78 per hour + Super.
Duration: ASAP start through to 30/06/2026.
Location: Arundel, QLD (with travel to various STP sites).
The Opportunity
You will provide vital technical expertise to the Operations Delivery teams during the construction of complex switchboard upgrades. This role requires a "hands-on" approach to ensure electrical infrastructure is delivered safely, on budget, and to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight: Provide specialist advice on STP switchboard construction and technical report development.
Design & Safety: Lead the Safety in Design process and conduct value engineering reviews to ensure the constructability of electrical designs.
Project Controls: Manage project budgets, track performance against targets, and provide accurate cost forecasting.
Subcontractor Management: Develop detailed scopes of work and manage subcontractor agreements for specialized electrical works.
Site Coordination: Assist in identifying and controlling hazardous site activities while ensuring drawings approved for construction are completed on time.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications: A degree in Electrical Engineering.
Licensing: Current Manual C Class Driver’s License.
Experience: 3+ years of project engineering experience, ideally within the water, waste, or heavy industrial sectors in SE Qld.
D&C Expertise: Proven background in delivering self-perform Design & Construct (D&C) projects.
Financial Literacy: Demonstrated ability in financial reporting, budgeting, and managing project schedules.
Health Requirements: Evidence of immunity (or willingness to obtain it) to Hepatitis A & B.
RPEQ qualification is highly regarded but not mandatory.
