About your new role
The Classification Managers are charged with the vital mission of designing and executing the organizational strategy for activity-based funding. Success hinges on robust engagement: partnering with clinicians to ensure practical relevance, collaborating with technical staff on system integration and negotiating with state/territory stakeholders to achieve consensus. Their output, refined clinical classification systems, standardized coding practices and definitive business logic forms the bedrock for equitable, nationally-consistent public hospital funding.
What you will need to exceed
... - Establish and nurture strong working relationships with internal departments, external agencies, and key stakeholders to facilitate comprehensive, cross-sector planning and the successful rollout of collaborative programmes.
- Execute and implement assigned programmes/projects, ensuring seamless transition from planning to operation, with strategic oversight provided by senior personnel.
- Monitor and assess wider environmental and organisational changes that could potentially impact the achievement of work-related aims and objectives.
- Make authoritative decisions based on informed judgment, subject-matter expertise, and deep professional knowledge, taking direction from senior staff where appropriate.
- Manage the entire programme/project lifecycle right through to completion and deployment, working under the guidance and direction of more senior colleagues.
- Contribute significantly to developing the team's operational objectives for short-term tasks and participating in the strategic forecasting for longer-term initiatives.

- Possessing qualifications in areas like health policy or project management, including specialisations like health information management, will be a significant advantage.
