About your new role
The Analytic Managers are charged with the vital mission of designing and executing the organizational strategy for activity-based funding. Success hinges on robust engagement: partnering with clinicians to ensure practical relevance, collaborating with technical staff on system integration and negotiating with state/territory stakeholders to achieve consensus. Their output, refined clinical classification systems, standardized coding practices and definitive business logic forms the bedrock for equitable, nationally-consistent public hospital funding.
What you will need to exceed
... Apply strategic thinking (vision, perception, and evaluation) to assess organisational impacts, governance, compliance, risks, and benefits.
Establish work priorities, maintain team cohesion, and ensure the high quality of all team outputs.
Provide specialist technical expertise and knowledge to diverse programmes and activities across the agency.
Identify, assess, and refine models by utilising research, grey literature, and stakeholder consultation.
Expert knowledge of the data analytics life cycle and its practical application within an organisational framework.
Design, develop, and refine mathematical and statistical models, leveraging excellent technical and analytical skills.
Effectively communicate complex and sensitive issues (both verbally and in writing) to varied audiences.
Desirable
- Relevant academic background in quantitative disciplines (e.g., mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or data design) is a strong advantage. Prior practical experience is sought in statistical/actuarial analysis, model creation, and proficiency in key data tools such as SAS, SQL, VBA, and Python libraries.
