About the Role
The Director of Technology reports to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and leads the Technology Functional Area.
The role is responsible for ensuring technology enables the safe, reliable and effective delivery of the Games, while supporting operational outcomes, stakeholder experience, commercial objectives and long-term legacy opportunities.
Working closely with the Chief Corporate Services Officer, the role provides leadership across the Technology portfolio, including enterprise technology, Games technology, cybersecurity, telecommunications, venue technology, results technology, AI and applications, and major technology partnerships and contracts.
The role is responsible for leading an integrated and collaborative technology function that delivers fit-for-purpose, secure and scalable technology solutions across the organisation and Games delivery ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of the Technology Functional Area in alignment with Games priorities and organisational objectives.
- Work closely with the Chief Corporate Services Officer on technology strategy, governance,prioritisation and major delivery decisions.
- Ensure technology solutions are integrated, reliable, secure and fit-for-purpose across all Functional Areas and delivery partners.
- Build strong relationships across the Games ecosystem, including the IOC/IPC, government, commercial partners, delivery partners and suppliers.
- Ensure technology supports operational readiness for test events and Games-time delivery.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience delivering large-scale and complex technology programs, operations or major events.
- Experience leading enterprise or operational technology functions in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of technology service delivery, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity and systems integration.
- Demonstrated ability to translate operational and business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Strong commercial and procurement capability, including experience managing major suppliers, contracts and partner relationships.
