The Role
Join a high-energy team based at our Hume facility and play a vital role in keeping the ACT clean, sustainable, and moving. We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to maintain, service, and repair our modern fleet of waste management vehicles. If you enjoy workshop stability, working on heavy-duty equipment, and finishing early enough to be home every afternoon, this is the role for you.
Your Day-to-Day
- Fleet Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing and mechanical repairs on a modern fleet of Heavy Rigid waste vehicles.
- Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools to identify and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Breakdown Support: Provide rapid-response repairs to minimize downtime and maintain collection routes.
- Compliance: Complete service logs and safety checks while following environmental and workshop safety protocols.
What You Need
- Qualifications: AUR31120 Trade Qualification (Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent.
- Licence: Australian driver's licence; HR licence highly regarded.
- Experience: Heavy transport or waste vehicle background with hydraulics and air brake expertise.
- Clearance: Must pass police and pre-employment Drug & Alcohol checks.
