We are actively engaged with our State Government client in NSW who are looking for a Career Transition Consultant to commence an initial contract till EOFY with possible extension.
Primary purpose of the role
The role provides effective and efficient management and coordination of redeployment, voluntary redundancy and excess processes, ensuring that organisational business objectives are supported, and effective assistance is provided to both staff and managers during periods of change. The role ensures compliance, data management and best practice management of relationships with all parties involved with the goal of delivering effective matching of people to roles.
Key account abilities
... - Provide advice and support to displaced staff and managers to ensure that they are fully informed of all aspects of the redeployment process and work with managers at all levels to identify and quantify transition, redeployment and redundancy issues and develop strategies to address these.
- Identify appropriate job matches across the department and other external agencies by facilitating skills assessments and coordinating priority assessments.
- Provide or arrange for access to appropriate and approved training programs, interview and job seeking skills programs and assistance with resumes and job applications.
- Deliver training and briefing sessions to staff in change affected areas on voluntary redundancy, redeployment and transition policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage the contract and relationship between the Department and its contracted service providers to achieve agreed service quality and ensure it is within agreed standards, benchmarks, agreements and expectations.
- Review, identify and implement improvements to policy and procedures through analysis of success ratios and feedback from both staff directly affected by change and the managers of those areas.
- Manage cyclical data and reporting to effectively track employees in Career Transition and ensure compliance to appropriate policies.
Key challenges
- Building sound relationships with line managers to increase knowledge, capacity and support for working within the return to work management framework.
- Handling all matters in a manner consistent with legislation, government and organisational strategy and with sensitivity, discretion and tact
- Managing time and prioritising issues given that work demands can flow from a number of sources and can have peak periods.
Key knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated experience in administration and/or coordination in a large, complex organisation.

- Demonstrated relevant experience in a Talent Acquisition role.
