Be part of the excitement as the AFL Gather Round returns to South Australia! From 9–12 April 2026, the iconic Barossa Valley will transform into a world-class festival of footy. We are seeking 13 enthusiastic Bus Hosts per day to help deliver a free hop-on, hop-off shuttle service connecting fans and visitors to wineries, towns, and local businesses.
As a Bus Host, you will be the face of the festival on the move. You will meet people from all over Australia, showcase the best of the Barossa, and play a vital role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every passenger.
Act as the first point of contact for guests boarding the buses. Ensure passengers understand the bus routes and are on the correct shuttle. Share local Barossa knowledge and service information using provided briefing notes. Assist guests with way-finding to local attractions, venues, and services. Help passengers understand timetables and distributing event programs. Communicate via two-way radio with the Operations Hub regarding accessibility requirements or incidents. Maintain a neat and tidy presentation of the bus environment. Provide a high level of customer service and respond to general enquiries.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
Availability: Ability to commit to all four event days (9–12 April) and attend a compulsory host briefing
Compliance: A valid National Police Clearance AND current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Attitude: An enthusiastic, positive, and welcoming personality
Age: Must be 18 years of age or older
Communication: Fluency in English (speaking and reading) and comfort using handheld two-way radios
Physicality: General fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods and work comfortably onboard moving buses.
Competitive Pay: $34/hr base rate with applicable weekend penalty rates
Transport: Free transportation provided from a central Adelaide pick-up and drop-off location to the Barossa
Uniform: Official event polo shirt provided
Support: Full briefings, radios, resources, and onsite Team Leader support
Hydration: Sunscreen and water refills provided throughout your shift.
