You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), partnering with business units to modernise systems while ensuring our cloud environment remains secure and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Deliver scalable foundation and shared cloud services, enabling internal teams to adopt cloud effectively through clear guardrails and governance.
• Automation & DevOps: Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Cloud Formation) and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and ensure consistency.
• Optimisation: Proactively manage cloud spend, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve performance across all AWS environments.
• Technical Advocacy: Mentor junior and senior engineers, uplifting team capability and evolving our "ways of working."
• Operational Excellence: Resolve complex technical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and maintain robust operational documentation/runbooks.
• Risk Management: Contribute to a strong risk culture by identifying operational risks and supporting response efforts for audits and examinations.

Skills & Experience Required

• AWS Mastery: Minimum 2+ years of relevant technical experience in cloud-native environments, specifically with AWS services.
• Engineering Best Practices: Proven track record in implementing IaC, automated deployments, and self-service cloud platforms.
• Security Mindset: Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., Finance, Government) with a focus on compliance and data privacy.
• Problem Solver: Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure during critical incidents.
• Collaborator: Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy.
• Agile Proficiency: Experience working within Agile/SCRUM frameworks and participating in sprint ceremonies.

Highly Regarded

• Relevant AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Speciality).
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
