We are partnering with a prominent Queensland Government Department to source a highly skilled Automation Engineer. This is a pivotal role within a major enterprise transformation program focused on Human Capital Management (HCM).
Your mission will be to identify, design, and implement intelligent, end-to-end automation solutions to eradicate manual, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks across critical business functions (HR, Payroll, ICT, and Data).

Key Focus Areas
As the Automation Engineer, you will:
...Solution Delivery: Design and implement robust automation workflows using tools like UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Python scripting, and custom API integrations.
Process Optimisation: Collaborate extensively with business SMEs and technical teams to accurately map current-state processes and prioritise high-value automation opportunities.
Best Practice: Develop and maintain reusable automation components, ensuring strict version control, logging, and compliance with Queensland Government security standards (e.g., IS18, IPOLA).
System Integration: Focus on automating processes, notifications, reconciliation, and integration handoffs between enterprise platforms, including exposure to SAP SuccessFactors/ECP and other Azure data environments.
Capability Uplift: Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and the ongoing maturity of the department's automation capabilities.
Your Background and Skills
We are seeking candidates who possess:
Mandatory Automation Experience: Proven track record of delivering complex process automation solutions using commercial platforms (UiPath, Power Automate, or equivalent).
Technical Stack: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for task automation and system integration. Deep familiarity with API integration, REST services, and JSON/XML data exchange.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of business process mapping and optimisation, particularly across the HR, Payroll, or Data domains.
Documentation: Ability to produce clear, precise technical documentation, including process maps and automation registers.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with both highly technical specialists and non-technical business stakeholders.
Compliance Awareness: A good understanding of Queensland Government information security and data handling policies (e.g., IS18, IPOLA).
