APS6, 12 month temporary contract within a government branch responsible for developing and maintaining policies, standards, and rules that promote efficiency and transparency in the delivery and funding of public health and aged care services. The key focus of the branch is on developing activity-based funding policy and collaborating with clinical, technical, and jurisdictional stakeholders to establish and uphold clinical classifications, coding standards, and business rules for public hospital services. As a Classification Officer, you will support all components of classification development and refinement.
Key Responsibilities:
... Technical development of classifications and associated specifications
Interpreting and communicating data, and developing metadata
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
Supporting project and program management along with the operational requirements of the work program
Supporting the Classification Manager with the delivery of all classification components
Key Requirements:
While qualifications in health, health information management, policy, or similar fields are highly regarded but not essential, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following Required Capabilities:
- Program Management: Perform independent research and analysis (including report preparation), liaise with other sections and external agencies, and manage programs/projects through to implementation.
- Leadership and Accountability: Provide expertise and technical knowledge in your specialist area, contribute to team objectives and strategic planning, and ensure the quality of work area outputs.
- Job Context and Environment: Possess an in-depth knowledge of IHACPA's role and functions, monitor changes in the broader work environment, and understand relevant legislative and policy frameworks.
- Independence and Decision-Making: Work with independence against established priorities, produce high-quality work requiring little revision, and make decisions using good judgement with direction from senior staff.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships to achieve agency goals, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs, and develop complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
