About the Role We are seeking a structured and proactive Web Services Publishing Officer (APS5 equivalent) to join a dynamic Digital Channels and Marketing team. This team membership position is highly operational, focusing on the efficient publishing of evidence-based web content across several key digital assets.
Working under limited supervision, you will handle competing requests, coordinate workloads, and apply best-practice user experience (UX) and accessibility principles to ensure all digital communications are inclusive and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
CMS & Digital Publishing: Lead the end-to-end publishing of digital content across multiple agency websites utilising Drupal CMS.
Accessibility & UX: Ensure all web assets strictly align with current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG standards) and technical digital accessibility requirements.
Workflow & Ticket Management: Manage technical correspondence, service requests, and administrative tasks via Jira Service Desk and shared team inboxes.
Data Analysis: Review and analyse digital data to inform strategic decisions regarding content placement, channel effectiveness, and end-user utility.
Team Coordination: Monitor local workflow priorities, set daily tasks under pressure, and provide guidance or peer-coaching to team members where required.
What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this position, you must bring:
Technical Toolkit: Demonstrated, hands-on experience web publishing within a Drupal CMS environment, alongside proficiency with Jira Service Desk or similar ticketing systems.
Accessibility Expertise: A strong, practical understanding of technical website terminology and a comprehensive knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards.
Operational Autonomy: Proven ability to work under limited direction, organise competing demands, apply sound judgment, and explain complex technical policies to broader stakeholders.
Systems Literacy: High competency across Microsoft Office applications and corporate software systems, backed by strong written and verbal communication skills.
Special Conditions & Eligibility
Citizenship: Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet federal government security requirements.
Clearances: You must hold or be willing to obtain a valid National Police Clearance and a current Working with Children Check.
Successful candidates will also be required to undergo a mandatory Federal Pre-Engagement Security Screening Check prior to commencement.
This role operates in a contemporary, hot-desk office environment with provisions for occasional working-from-home flexibility. Reasonably tailored workplace adjustments are readily supported by the agency.
