APS5 Assessment Officers & APS6 Senior Assessment Officers:

Duties may include a range of the following (but not limited to):

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant Commonwealth environmental legislation to support confident, accurate, and high-quality advice and assessment.
• Undertake triage assessment of allegations and wildlife seizures associated with potential contravention of Commonwealth Environmental law.
• Review data and satellite imagery associated with proactive detections of potential land clearing, determining whether further assessment is warranted.
• Perform accurate data entry of allegations, enquiries, and seizures into relevant databases and case management systems.
• Contribute to Ministerial Correspondence, briefing materials and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation or regulatory processes is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with SAT-GIS or similar systems/tools is desirable but not essential.
