This is a high-level opportunity for a senior engagement specialist to join a State Government team dedicated to the long-term success of the manufacturing industry. Starting in January 2026, you will lead a strategic portfolio focused on supporting the growth of the manufacturing sector through high-impact industry partnerships, program design, and the delivery of critical projects. This role is initially a 5 month tempoary assignment, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary link between industry and education, identifying regional skills gaps and connecting businesses to critical training and workforce development programs.
- Design and lead local workshops and forums that help manufacturers improve their business capabilities and production capacity.
- Assist regional manufacturers in navigating and accessing complex State and Australian government Advanced Manufacturing programs.
- Represent departmental interests at a high level with key stakeholders, including local government, industry partners, and economic development agencies.
- Drive the delivery of multiple complex projects that capitalize on the competitive advantages of regional Queensland.
Skills/experience required
- A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and the broader industrial ecosystem.
- Proven success in developing and delivering place-based workshops and forums that foster industry capability.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of building enduring, collaborative relationships.
- Extensive experience leading the development and delivery of multiple complex programs and initiatives.
- A current C class driver's licence and full Australian work rights are essential for this position.
- Ability to travel within the region as required.
