Role Responsibilities

1. Web Development Project Lead (AO7)

You will lead the end-to-end redesign of the department's website, transitioning it to the new Queensland Government Design System (QGDS).

• Strategy: Oversee the website renewal project to successful delivery, including project planning, timelines, and progress reporting.
• Architecture: Review information architecture (IA) and create user journey diagrams to consolidate content from multiple government sites.
• Technical Leadership: Work with Squiz Matrix CMS, ensure WCAG 2.1AA compliance, and manage a small digital project team.
• Stakeholder Management: Provide strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team and collaborate with IT partners.

2. Senior Graphic Designer (AO5)

You will deliver high-quality creative products across digital, web, and print platforms to explain complex safety issues.

• Design Excellence: Create social media assets, animations, publications, and presentations using Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Brand Stewardship: Ensure all work complies with departmental branding, style guides, and policies.
• Collaboration: Interpret briefs from stakeholders and provide creative solutions in an agile environment.

3. Senior Digital Content Creator (AO5)

As an accomplished visual storyteller, you will produce engaging video content to support strategic objectives.

• End-to-End Production: Film and edit high-quality video content and manage photography.
• Innovation: Take a "digital-first" approach, expanding the use of interactive design and innovative multimedia solutions.
• Travel: Conduct regional photo and video shoots across the state as required.

Key Selection Criteria

For the Web Development Project Lead:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Extensive experience with Squiz Matrix CMS and content migration.
• Proven ability to manage Information Architecture (IA) and site structures within a large organization.

For the Creative Roles (Graphic Designer & Content Creator):

• Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in graphic design or video production.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand visual assets.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced team.
