About the Role
Our client is a QLD state government organisation based in Nathan QLD. They are currently seeking an A04 Finance Officer to come in and join their team on a temp contract for 4 months with possible extensions.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Proven Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing experience
- Previous experience with SAP or Technology One systems (Desirable)
- Previous Local, State or Federal government experience (Desirable)
Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Operations: Manage end-to-end accounts payable/receivable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and travel acquittals while ensuring accuracy and adherence to delegated approvals.
Procurement Coordination: Deliver expert procurement support, including the preparation of tender documentation and ensuring all corporate purchasing aligns with legislative policy.
Asset & Compliance Management: Oversee the QAS asset registry and Gifts and Benefits register, performing regular stocktakes and audits to ensure strict adherence to departmental standards.
Reporting & Data Integrity: Execute month-end processing, including journals, accruals, and monthly reconciliations, to ensure financial data integrity and meeting reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Advisory: Provide quality financial advice and support to senior management and external government agencies (e.g., DTIS, QSAC) while managing high-pressure deadlines.
Strategic Collaboration: Foster a high-performance culture by collaborating with elite sport networks (AIS, state institutes) to share knowledge and meet shifting operational needs.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing experience
- Previous experience with SAP or Technology One systems (Desirable)
- Previous Local, State or Federal government experience (Desirable)
