About the Role
This is a pivotal role where you will transform multi-source data, ranging from strategic objectives, to organisational performance, to stakeholder sentiment, into executive-ready, actionable insights that drive "right-time" decision-making for the Brisbane 2032 Games.
You will be the primary architect of our "single source of truth," designing leadership dashboards and curating the semantic models that enable our teams to consume data with absolute confidence. Beyond technical stewardship, you will champion a culture of data discipline and leverage AI-driven predictive analytics to help us navigate the complexities of delivering the world's largest sporting event.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead an Analytics and Insights capability within a Centre of Excellence, transforming complex data from strategic, operational, and tactical information sources into actionable executive insights.
- Establish a Single Source of Truth - Design and steward the organisation’s KPI catalogue and data practices to ensure a unified, governed environment for all strategic reporting.
- Build and iterate high-level executive dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, optimising for self-service and automated, real-time data delivery.
- Leverage predictive analytics and AI-enabled insights to forecast risks, identify resourcing constraints, and shorten decision-making cycles.
- Implement robust data acquisition controls and validation rules to guarantee the accuracy and traceability of all portfolio health and delivery metrics.
- Partner with internal leadership and external stakeholders, including the IOC and IPC, to align reporting with stakeholder delivery requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Senior Analytics Leadership: 5+ years as a Senior or Lead Analyst, ideally within large-scale events, consultancy, or complex project environments.
- Technical Mastery: Advanced Power BI (DAX/Modeling) and familiarity with Microsoft Fabric/Power Platform.
- Strategic Design: Proven track record in building "Single Source of Truth" architectures and governed Centre of Excellence (CoE) frameworks.
- Data Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex metrics into executive-ready narratives and actionable decisions.
- AI & Predictive Analytics: High AI literacy with practical experience in forecasting, anomaly detection, and AI-enabled summarisation.
- Systems Integration: Experience with Smartsheet and EPM/PPM tooling is highly regarded
