The Opportunity
Based in Acacia Ridge, this is a full-time temp-to-perm position within a high-volume distribution network. You will be at the centre of daily freight coordination, managing the movement of containers and specialised freight-including Dangerous Goods - to ensure seamless service delivery for major national partnerships.
Shift Patterns & Compensation
We are seeking a reliable professional who values stability and is happy to be flexible to support the operation during leave periods.
...Pay Rate: $40 per hour (Base), plus applicable penalty rates for early starts (5am–7am) or late shifts (1pm–9pm).
Initial Training: 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Standard Roster: Typically 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Flexibility Requirement: To ensure smooth operations, you will occasionally be required to cover the 5:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm – 9:00pm shifts. Advance notice will always be provided for these changes.
Key Responsibilities
Container Allocation: Efficiently route container freight and specialised loads, factoring in vehicle suitability, load capacity, and driver fatigue.
Specialised Freight: Manage the movement of containerised goods, including Dangerous Goods (DG) and weight-restricted loads.
Operational Coordination: Maintain proactive communication with drivers and work closely with internal teams to ensure schedule alignment.
Incident Management: Manage real-time resource planning for delays, accidents, or breakdowns to protect critical service windows.
About You
This role requires a dedicated professional who takes ownership of their desk and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Experience: Proven background in transport allocation; container freight and dangerous goods experience is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle suitability, weight limits, and ideally, Dangerous Goods. Familiar using multiple systems or platforms in a shift.
Communication: Exceptional skills when working with drivers and external stakeholders.
Adaptability: A team-player mindset with the genuine flexibility to work across the different shift times mentioned above, and support other teams where needed
