Your New Company/Role:
As a well established organisation, my client is looking for an experienced Accountant (Accounts Receivable/Payroll focus) to join their team for a 12 months fixed term contract (maternity cover) and subject to extension/permanency. The role is to be based in their Western Sydney office. Onsite parking is provided alongside 2 days work from home after 6 months in the role.
This is a vital, hands-on role where you will manage some element of the fortnightly payroll (which has been outsourced) and ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding debts which is the accounts receivable function alongside some other areas of finance when required.

About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:
Reporting to a nurturing Finance Manager; you are responsible for
- Debtors Collections: Proactively managing and following up on outstanding accounts to ensure optimal cash flow.
- Debtors Posting & Payment Reviews: Accurately posting receipts and reviewing debtor accounts.
- Intercompany Allocations & Reporting: Preparing and reporting on intercompany charges and journal entries.
- Month end duties
- Performing integrated group reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Performing accruals and sales rebates
- Payroll has been outsourced so just mainly managing payroll for employees across various sites in terms of manual timesheet adjustments, termination pay calculations, etc
- Managing payroll tax, payroll reports, GL reconciliations, and month-end processes
- Month end duties - accruals, sales rebates, inventory and reporting
- Liaising with HR and the National Manager regarding company car administration
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Ideal Profile
This opportunity is for someone who has experience within the payroll and accounts receivable domain. You will also bring:
- Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting & Finance/equivalent qualification or relevant work experience
- Proven experience in a similar role - specifically handling both Payroll and Accounts Receivable function
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax and compliance requirements
- Experience with outsourced payroll providers (not mandatory) and large ERP systems like Navision, SAP or others
- Excellent communication skills with a confident approach to collections and internal stakeholder management
