About the Role
Our client are a well-known QLD State government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking a Project Finance Manager to come in and work with them on a 6 month contract with possible extension options.

Candidates for this role must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Commerce
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated experience managing finance for large-scale finance projects.
- Previous government experience (Nice to have)
- Deep experience in complex accounting environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Financial Oversight: Direct the department’s global month-end and year-end financial cycles. This includes orchestrating complex accruals, general ledger reconciliations, and the delivery of high-level monthly reporting suites.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the financial lifecycle of multiple large-scale projects, ensuring they remain on track, compliant, and fiscally responsible.
- Compliance & Governance: Serve as a subject matter expert on financial legislation an Australian Accounting Standards, ensuring all departmental practices exceed audit and regulatory requirements.
- Executive Systems Management: Administer critical systems including Commbank Card Manager and Corporate Travel Management (CTM). You will provide strategic training and support to domestic and international senior executive delegates.
- Financial Business Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation. You will lead the development of financial policies and procedures to ensure global consistency and operational efficiency.
- Global Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain sophisticated working relationships with stakeholders across Australia and our international offices to facilitate seamless communication and project delivery.
About You
You will be an experienced Project Finance Manager with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Commerce

- Demonstrated experience managing finance for large-scale finance projects.
