A08 Financial Analyst - Economic Development Queensland

Paying between $97.66-$103.19 + super
Brisbane CBD location with hybrid working flexibility
Temp contract opportunity for 6 months with possible extensions

About the Role ...

Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an A08 Financial Analyst to come in and work with them on a 6 month temp contract with potential for extension.

Candidates for this role must have:

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce OR CA or CPA qualification

Demonstrated expert financial modelling capability, including the design and delivery of flexible, robust and sustainable budgeting and forecasting models

Experience with SAP, and Microsoft Power BI

Key responsibilities will include:

Financial Model Ownership: Design and maintain a robust integrated model for consolidated and business-unit financial statements.
Data Architecture: Map and integrate data from disparate sources (e.g., Estate Master) to ensure data integrity and consistency.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to validate assumptions and resolve complex data issues.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all models and submissions meet Queensland Treasury and whole-of-government reporting standards.
Cost Analysis: Model and monitor critical cost drivers, including staffing and overheads, through detailed scenario analysis.
Process Improvement: Support leadership by driving continuous improvement in budgeting workflows and output quality.
Systems Evolution: Provide technical expertise for future budgeting software selection and SAP S/4HANA integration.

About You

You will be an experienced Financial Analyst with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce OR CA or CPA qualification
Demonstrated expert financial modelling capability, including the design and delivery of flexible, robust and sustainable budgeting and forecasting models
Experience with SAP, and Microsoft Power BI
