We are seeking a highly skilled A07 Finance Manager to lead the provision of high-quality business partnering within a complex, large-scale hospital environment. You will lead a dedicated team of five finance professionals, providing critical insights into financial and FTE performance to ensure the delivery of sustainable healthcare. Please note that proven experience managing a team as a Finance Manager within the health sector is an essential requirement for this position.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Performance, you will act as a strategic advisor to senior operational leadership, translating complex data into actionable financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering: Lead senior-level business partnering for hospital divisions, overseeing performance reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Strategic Analysis: Lead hospital-wide analysis of financial and FTE trends, sharing insights with executive teams to identify risks and opportunities.
Budget Management: Manage the annual budget build for hospital services in accordance with established guidelines and strict monthly timeframes.
Financial Oversight: Maintain oversight of Service Level Agreements and recurrent funding arrangements, including Activity Based Funding (ABF).
Leadership & Coaching: Provide active mentoring, coaching, and support to the Financial Performance team to build internal capability and a high-performance culture.
Sustainable Care: Support hospital leaders in identifying and tracking sustainability initiatives to ensure long-term financial health.
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Health Sector Expertise: You must possess extensive experience in a large healthcare service or a similarly complex service organisation.
Mandatory Qualifications: A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business is essential.
Technical Proficiency: Practical expertise in S/4HANA, DSS Necto, and BPT is required.
Highly Desirable Criteria
Government Experience: Prior experience within a public sector or government environment is strongly preferred.
Professional Registration: CA, CPA, CIMA, or ICA qualification is highly regarded.
Proven ability to influence and consult with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data interpretation.
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
