About the Role
Our client is a QLD State government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an A04 Finance Officer to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 2nd July 2027 with possible extensions.
Candidates for this position must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or similar.
- Previous experience in Federal, State or local government
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer role
- Experience with SAP system
Key responsibilities include:
Invoice Lifecycle Management: Oversee the finance mailbox to receive, categorise, and process accounts payable and receivable invoices while ensuring accurate project and cost center allocation.
Master Data & SAP Entry: Accurately input financial data into SAP and manage the creation and amendment of vendor and client master records to ensure data integrity.
Validation & Budget Control: Scrutinise invoices for accuracy and policy compliance, verifying available budgets and obtaining necessary endorsements prior to processing.
Disbursement & Reconciliation: Execute timely payments to vendors and partners, monitoring payment schedules and reconciling financial accounts to maintain balanced records.
Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to departmental policies, provide documentation for financial audits, and report on payment performance targets and exceptions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key liaison for vendors and clients, resolving invoicing discrepancies and addressing financial inquiries with professional communication.
Process & Document Maintenance: Streamline financial workflows for efficiency, maintain internal procedural guidelines, and manage the systematic retention and disposal of financial records.
About You
You will be an experienced Finance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or similar.
- Previous experience in Federal, State or local government
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer role
- Experience with SAP system
