Job Opportunity: A03 Finance Officer
We are seeking a detail oriented Finance Officer for a 6-month contract to join a busy finance team. This role is specifically designed for a professional who enjoys the technical side of financial accounting, focusing on General Ledger integrity, journal processing, and balance sheet reconciliations rather than high-volume AP/AR processing.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting services:
...- Journal Management: Prepare and process various month end accrual journals, including agency staff, IT third-party charges, prepayments, and motor vehicle expenses.
- Reconciliations: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with associated working papers for Finance Manager review.
- Fixed Assets: Update and maintain the Non MV fixed asset register, undertake annual stocktakes, and prepare reports for audit endorsement.
- System Processing: Review, prepare, and process General Purpose Expenditure Vouchers (GPEVs) in SAP.
- Financial Analysis: Monitor actual spend against budget for IT and third-party costs and run weekly Power BI reports.
- Revenue & Claims: Reconcile auction rebates against sales and prepare claims within SAP.
- Collaborative Support: Assist with FBT vehicle data checks, budget template updates, and ad-hoc reporting as required.
About You
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who prefers financial accounting tasks over transactional processing.
You will possess:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in raising and processing journal entries and performing General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations.
- Software Proficiency: Very good SAP knowledge with hands-on experience in the system is essential.
- Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills, specifically with Pivot Tables and Lookup functions, are required.
- Analytical Tools: Previous experience using Power BI is considered highly advantageous.
- Professionalism: The ability to provide quality accounting advice and support to the wider business.
