PIEF (personal injury & education foundation)

The TREAD program aims to increase positive recovery and return to work outcomes within the transport industry. Established in 2023 as a collaboration between Symons and Clark, Gallagher Bassett, and Randstad the program is delivered onsite at Symons and Clark Transport depot providing access to all the resources transport employees require to build their functional and operational capacity for work. Functional capacity includes tasks such as accessing and egressing a cabin, handling gates and curtains, and any other tasks that the individual needs to be able to return to work. Capacity is built through one to one allied health support delivering tailored programs. Operational capacity includes the ability to drive a truck with capacity being built through engagemmet in a buddy system and trainer supported driving all delivered by Symons and Clark drivers and trainers. Transport specific claims advice and support is provided by Gallagher Bassett and their industry specialists. TREAD has been well received by industry and through collaborative efforts has led to some great outcomes for injured transport employees.

SISA award winner: leading early intervention

Award: Leading Early Intervention program This award was presented to Randstad and ACH Group for the development and implementation of an effective Early Injury Intervention program. The Early Intervention program was designed around the injured worker experience aiming to minimise the impact on both their work and personal life. Injured workers receive immediate support through a triage service, treatment within 24 hours of notification, clear guidance on their rights and entitlements, and support identifying suitable duties based. Support is provided by experienced Injury Management Advisors and Allied Health professionals throughout the recovery and return to work. This program has seen year on year increased engagement by staff, positive feedback from employees and management, and a reduction in injury costs, claims and recovery timeframes.

The pre-employment assessment is one of the first interactions a candidate has with their potential new employer; it is important that this is a positive experience. Randstad’s interaction with the candidate impacts on the employer, and our client. To provide a positive experience, Randstad: Provide all pre-assessment paperwork electronically to minimise candidate waiting time. Provide an inviting environment in our waiting areas, including complimentary refreshments. Maintain a single assessor for all testing. This minimises waiting between tests and allows for a comfortable rapport to be established. It also minimises the duration of the assessment and the disruption to a candidate’s day.
