My client is a respected industrial organisation looking for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This position is within the waste management industry where you will be servicing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles, this industry is an essential service. Due to the necessity for filling this role quickly I am looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic who can hit the ground running. Duties: Perform repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.Perform detailed inspections of heavy vehicles and equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company own equipment.Perform fabrication and repair component parts.Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, etc.Complete service forms, brake forms and other paperwork accurately and legibly in accordance with company guidelinesvehicles include: trucks, front lift, rear lift, side lift, roll on and off vehiclescompleting service documentationensuring all working is completed efficiently and to standardParticipate in a day shift and afternoon shift rosterExperience and qualifications:minimum 4 years maintenance experienceCertificate III in Heavy Vehicle MechanicalA sound working knowledge of heavy and mechanical repairs.To be able to decipher workshop manuals and technical bulletins to carry out duties as a qualified motor mechanic.To be able to carry out duties whilst unsupervisedfirst aid (preferred)proactive approach to problem solving and risk managementstrong communication skillsHR truck licence (preferred)All applicants will be required to do a medical and physical assessment.
