mechanic | fitter | service technician (no qualif.)

This is a diverse, hands-on role combining precision workshop machinery builds with occasional travel across QLD and interstate to install, commission, and service our equipment on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble automated recycling machinery from the ground up, including conveyors, crushers, sorting units, and drive assemblies.

• Read and interpret mechanical schematics and assembly blueprints with accuracy.

• Travel to customer sites to install new equipment and run commissioning tests.

• Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical faults, and perform field repairs.

• Collaborate directly with the engineering team to resolve build challenges and optimize machine performance.

• Complete brief service and inspection reports post-site visits.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in mechanical machinery assembly, fitting, or equipment maintenance (Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter/Fitter Machinist highly regarded).

• Solid mechanical aptitude with confident use of hand, air, and power tools.

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting mindset.

• Experience with conveyors, material handling, or industrial automation (advantageous).

• Current Driver’s Licence
