If you are interested in becoming an after school care, a university degree or an apprenticeship is a great place to begin. For information on the qualifications and relevant education needed for the role, see the ‘education and qualifications’ section of our after school care job profile.
To work in after school care, you need a background in childcare or early childhood education. Pursue a diploma course in early childhood education or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care to learn the relevant skills. You also require a Working with Children Check and police clearance to work with kids.
