On behalf of our client - a respected, quality-driven manufacturer and specialist supplier of core electrical products - we are searching for an autonomous Business Development Manager (WA) to spearhead growth across Perth.
This is an execution-focused field role designed for a hunter who thrives on being out in the market, visiting key accounts, securing major project specs, and opening doors with top-tier mining, industrial, and commercial end-users.
Key Responsibilities- Wholesaler Account Growth: Develop and nurture relationships across a target portfolio of 80-120 electrical wholesaler branches and buying groups across WA.
- Contractor & Project Engagement: Connect with electrical contractors early in the project cycle across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors to influence product selection.
- Mining & Industrial Approvals: Navigate approval pathways with major resources and industrial operators (including tier-1 mining companies) by managing documentation, product trials, and technical submissions.
- Territory Strategy: Run a clear, high-impact growth strategy, maintaining a robust pipeline and logging activity via CRM (HubSpot).
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor movements, product gaps, and market trends to deliver strategic feedback to internal support teams.
- Industry Background: Previous sales, territory management, or BD experience within electrical wholesaling, manufacturing, industrial, or mining supply chains (highly preferred).
- Relationship Builder: Proven ability to build credibility quickly with everyone from counter staff and trade contractors to procurement leads at major resource companies.
- Technical Aptitude: Able to quickly understand core technical product ranges and present value-add solutions clearly.
- Self-Driven & Autonomous: Comfortable managing a remote WA territory, prioritising high-value opportunities, and maintaining a high frequency of face-to-face visits.
- Tools: Proficient with CRM systems (HubSpot experience is a plus) and Microsoft Office.
- Travel: Willingness to travel across WA, as well as periodic trips to the company's international head office for strategy and team alignment.
- Autonomy & Ownership: Take full ownership of a prime growth territory with the backing of a dedicated internal technical, marketing, and customer support team.
